With its partners from the Yacht Club of Toulon, the Yacht Club du Gaou Bénat has been actively preparing for the opening of its 2023 season for the past month.

The year is historic since it is the 10thseason

of the Gaou Bénat Yacht Club!

We look forward to celebrating this event with you throughout the summer. But book now your July 15 to participate in the regatta of the 10thseason and the great cocktail that will follow!

Given that classes left as late as last year, the internship season will officially begin

Monday, July 3, 2023!

But our team of instructors will start setting up the nautical base from June 26, 2021 and maybe even a week before. Rentals for sailing or rowing sports will therefore be possible from these dates, as well as à la carte activities if demand justifies it.

In 2023, our management will consist of three people:

Jean Christophe Durbec, 42 years old, BP JEPS (for the 5thyear in Gaou) – Base manager;

Marc Payen, 44 years old, BPJEPS (for the 3thyear in Gaou);

Natan Barré, 18 years old, CQP AMV.

The fleet will be the same as the one set up in 2022, with:

  • 5 Hobie Cat 15’
  • 4 Hobie Cat Dragoon
  • 6 Laser standard
  • 6 Laser Pico
  • 15 Optimist
  • 13 kayaks (6 doubles – 2 triples – 5 simples)
  • 10 paddles BIC de 3,20 m
  • 3 semi-rigid safety boats (two of 5.20m with steering wheel with 30 HP engine and one of 4m with tiller with 9.9 HP engine).

In an attempt to solve the thorny problem of boats going up our steep ramp, we will test the solution of a beach mat in 2023. The club has invested in a 10 x 3 meter Mobi-Mat AFX anti-slip mat (manufactured by Deschamps) that we will put in place between the end of the concrete ramp and the seaside. This will be the main investment of the club. 2023 season, since the club is saving its cash to allow the purchase during the 2023-2024 off-season of two permanent wooden-clad bungalows.

Since everything is ready, we invite you to register and make your reservations without delay on our site, especially for the very busy weeks (July 10 to August 18):

https://ycgb.fr

Remember that a booking is only registered if it is paid for and if you have subscribed, for each trainee, to a YCGB membership and a license (sailing passport, for example) which includes your insurance.

For the continuation of our investments, your donations are still essential and appreciated.

In 2022, the Ministry of Sports maintained the tax-exempt kitty system “Supportistclub” which has been very useful to us in recent years:

Support your club

Do not hesitate to make new donations this year to your club: they are deductible at 65% of your taxable income (at 75% of the ISF). Thanks to them, we will be able to cover the purchase of our bungalows and the essential floors and pergolas to equip the patio located at the back of our base (zone for drying vests and storing oars).

We look forward to the pleasure of meeting in our Gaou Bénat club, to celebrate this 10thseason.

What a long way!
